How to set up an automated filter to delete unwanted email in Gmail
Users of Gmail have the facility to set up an automated filter to take messages from specific senders and apply various rules to it, that even includes sending it to trash.
-> In your inbox, chose the mail either from from one person or more than one person using the little check boxes to the left of the mail. At the top of the list of messages, there are a number of icons with drop-down menus. Here Click on More button> then “Filter messages like these”.
-> Choosing that option will open up, pre-populated feature with the email addresses of the senders of the emails you chosen earlier. Note that you can also add specific words in the fields—the subject line, and more, if you want to fine-tune this further.
It is bit confusing here but not tough—and this is possibly the reason for the new Block command—when you select for create filter with this search does not actually create the filter.
But, it takes you to a another page, here you will get many options to apply to the message. In this case, the one you’ll want, is Delete. If access given, deleting an email means that it’s gone forever.
Note: “Deleting” an email in Gmail account means sending it to the Trash, not blocking it at the server level.
